Student Group

The Data Science Club expands the knowledge of those interested in the data science field through practical application in the way of competitions, community outreach, and connection to like minded individuals. The club meets every week to work on competitions and discuss relevant topics. The club was formed in the fall of 2016 and is open to anyone with a passion for data science.

Meeting Topics:

o   Data science tools and techniques that you can use in your classes or internship

o   Broad range of applications for cognates/specializations and data science minors

o   The data science community both within the college and beyond

Goals: 

o   Leave every week with a new skill or tool

o   Get prepared for interviews and data science presentations

o   Learn how to use data science within your discipline, potentially beginning a pet project

o   Connect with data science students, faculty, and professionals

Meeting time:  Thursday at 6 PM

Location: ICAT Room in the Beatty Center (School of Business)
